Pear Tree honey farm is a second generation family run business. We are located in the North Yorkshire village of Middleton Tyas having previously operated since 1983 from Eppleby, North Yorkshire.
We manage and run around 2,000 hives and supply honey businesses and honey packers across the UK.
All of our honey comes from our own bees, brought from field to farm and extracted on site.
This honey is mainly foraged from oil seed rape as well as other native spring blooms, such as buttercup, hawthorn and early tree blossom. This honey does set, due to it's rape seed base, but can be creamed to produce soft set honey.
This is our second crop of the year, from our hives sited near 'set aside'. This summer honey is runny and sweet, foraged from all that North Yorkshire's countryside has to offer, such as clover, dandelions, wild flowers and trees such as limes.
Our final crop of the year, this honey is oozing with richness and a stronger taste from the Ling heather, found on moorland, all over the North Yorkshire and County Durham hills.
We breed and rear our bees from selected Carnica honey bee breeding stock. We work hard to ensure our bees are healthy and thriving as they do their vital work.
